Can this week go by faster? It’s that time of year again to go to my FAVORITE conference, and I can’t wait to get there. FETC is coming soon!
I love FETC because it’s a great conference, but it’s also the place where I am most likely to get to hang out with my Ed Tech friends. Over the years Florida has been like a second home to me, and I deeply missed this conference last year.
This conference is just pure fun, but it also is one of my favorites content-wise. FETC does an amazing job every year of bringing an awesome mix of both national level, next level, and local presenters to the conference. You can get all kinds of perspectives. I think the best thing is that you get really good presenters who are trying to make their name and want to give the most thoughtful learning experience.

I was a little nervous about getting into FETC but I have three full sessions including 2 workshops! They include:
  • Apple Delight: Content Creation, and Choice
    • 1/26 South 331C 8:00AM
    • The workshop version of the Firehose! Come fill your iPad tons of apps to deliver amazing learning experiences and get time to work with them and practice to!
  • What if We Ran Schools Like Google?
    • 1/27 South 310GH 10:00AM
    • Google’s way of doing business is the new way of doing business in the real world. Why not apply that to schools. This presentation takes the six critical components of Google culture and imagines applying that to schools. The objective is to give leaders ideas on how to make it happen.
  • A Deep Dive into Google Classroom
    • 1/27 South 331B 1:30PM
    • The objective for this workshop is to make Google Classroom everything it can be for teachers. This workshop starts from the beginning and then gives some tips and tricks for every user level. We start at the beginning, and we give folks time to play at every level.
  • Bring the Future to Any Class with Coding
    • 1/27 South 220C 4:00PM
    • Coding is for everyone! It can be a creative activity in any class. You can create things like games, animations, and stories for students to show what they know in things like ELA, Music, Social Studies, Art, Science, and Math. Come learn how!
  • Make Something Delicious with MicroComputers!
    • 1/28 North 220F 10:30AM
    • The objective of this session is to give hardware with extremely high ceilings. Both micro:bit and Raspberry Pi allow you to build almost anything, but it can be hard to know how to start. This session is all about making things easy.
