The Dojo is Rocking It

I love tech companies that are thoughtful, and teacher minded and Class Dojo is for sure that. I have had the joy of interacting with them on many levels, and I can say with out a shadow of a doubt that they are one of the few that really care about the teacher experience.
They are working so hard to bring new features that really matter to teachers, but they are also not messing with the base experience. Their staff truly builds a product with love, and a perfect example of that is their community manager during the launch of their newest feature. Jenna (who is a former teacher, and former user) was so excited about the new feature that she was tweeting in the middle of the night. I don't know about you, but I love to see that level of excitement!
Well is Class Dojo and What is the new feature? Class Dojo's base is as a classroom management tool. It works by allowing the user to award positive points for positive behaviors and negative points for negative behaviors. Where it really excels though is that parents can get a code and see these scores in real time. You can also send messages to parents. Really, when you think about it, think about it more as a communication tool then a behavior management tool!
The feature they JUST launched is groups. You can now organize students into groups and award points to the group. On the base level of behaviors it's a great addition, but what really rocks about the feature is how you will be able to use it in alternative ways. You could use it as group scoring. You could use it as a guide to keep track of participation. You could use it as a basic grading system, and there are so many more.
What most excites me about Class Dojo though is what's coming. I am one of their ambassadors so they have shared with me their future plans, and they are for sure great. In fact, their is one that I think can be a game changer for many classrooms. It will allow you to break down the walls of your classroom. I wish I could tell you more, but Jenna might kill me!
